Orders can be placed online via our website, in person. Please note we do not accept telephone orders. Full payment is required at the point of ordering unless agreed with us. You will be provided with an order confirmation with an order number and a payment receipt. If ordering online, check your junk mail folder as confirmations may be redirected there by your security software. Please check your copy of the order carefully and let us know if any items are incorrect.
It is especially important to check you have selected the time and date for collection delivery. Private Bakery Ltd cannot accept responsibility for errors made during the ordering process by the customer.
Orders require a minimum of 24 hours notice. Wedding cakes and special or large orders require a minimum of 48 hours. The earliest possible fulfilment time is always offered when placing an online order.
If you have arranged to collect, the cake will be available within the time-slot selected. If for some reason you are unable to collect on the day specified, please contact us. We will hold the cake for you until the end of its shelf-life, when it will be discarded. Once a cake has been accepted, it is the customer’s responsibility to safely transport to its destination.
Where delivery is requested, it is the customers responsibility to ensure a complete and correct address is supplied, along with a correct phone number for contact. It is also the customer’s responsibility that there is someone to accept the delivery at the address. Private Bakery Ltd cannot accept responsibility for late or missing deliveries due to insufficient or incorrect information supplied, or because there is no one to accept delivery.
Alterations to orders may be requested, but we may not be able to accommodate late changes. Additional charges may apply for any changes.
Private Bakery Ltd cakes are handmade, using fresh natural fruit. Therefore there may be slight variations in appearance from those shown in our publicity material. We reserve the right to replace unavailable components with those of equal or better quality. Ribbon colour as shown is illustrative only – if a specific colour is required this must be requested at the time of ordering.
On collection or delivery you will be asked to check the appearance of the cake. Please take the time to inspect the order, as Private Bakery Ltd cannot take any responsibility for visible errors not identified and shown to staff at this point.
Private Bakery Ltd will make every effort to fulfil you order correctly. In the unlikely event that this does not occur, please note Private Bakery Ltd does not accept any responsibility for consequential costs incurred due to errors made with products supplied or delivered. This does not affect your statutory rights.
We can only guarantee a full refund of your order up to 14 days prior to the collection or delivery date. Please note that if you cancel between 14 days to 72hrs prior to delivery or collection date you will receive a maximum of 50% of the order total. In the event of cancellations within 72hrs of collection or delivery, Private Bakery Ltd reserves the right to retain the total value of the order to cover costs.
Please note if you place an order for collection or delivery within 72hrs you are ordering it in a non-cancellation period. Therefore, Private Bakery Ltd reserves the right to retain the total value of the order to cover costs.
Prices and Availability
Our products and prices are subject to change at any time – we use many natural ingredients and it is inevitable that the cost of these will fluctuate from time to time according to the season and the quality of the harvest. We do try to give some advance notice when our prices need to change, but this is not always possible. All sizes and depths quoted are approximate – we make our products by hand and there is always some natural variation. We work hard to keep our website and printed price lists as accurate as possible, and to make sure that prices are quoted correctly. However, we cannot accept orders if we find there is an error either in the description of the goods or in the price advertised. If we discover that there is an error after you have placed an order, we will contact you as soon as possible and give you the choice to either cancel your order or to complete it at the correct price. If we are out of stock of a particular item, we will contact you to advise and offer an appropriate substitute, if available. We do not back order goods. Any email or other electronic acknowledgement by us of receipt of an order placed by you does not constitute legal acceptance of your order.
Privacy and Security
We will never knowingly sell or otherwise reveal information about you to any other company, except where this is necessary for the processing of your order (eg giving address information to our carrier). We take great care to protect any personal details (including credit card details) which we hold, but cannot be liable if, through no fault of our own, these details are intercepted and used by third parties.
Using our online ordering facility or registering on our website implies consent to receive emails and other communications relating to your account. If you wish to opt out of our mailing list, or want to permanently remove your personal information from our database, please email us with a detailed request.
